The main goal of the DECESI project is to reduce the CO2 footprint associated with cement through the efficient recovery of mineral fractions from energy recovery processes. The fractions will be reused in manufacturing construction products and thus contribute to reducing the waste that ends up in landfills.
The recovery strategies that will be implemented will be aimed at selective segregation of the various currents in those fractions using mechanical handling technologies and advanced monitoring technologies using artificial vision. The mineral fractions that are recovered will be used for creating new decarbonised construction products (eco-cement).

The project is co-financed by the Basque government and the European Union through the 2021-2027 European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
