The general goal of the CirIAMet project is to make progress in developing intelligent technologies based in AI for classifying, separating, recovering and valuing valuable metals in recycling the new generation of out of use vehicles to increase the circularity and competitiveness of the industrial fabric, driving the transition in society, the environment and the use of digital technologies.
The consortium of the CirIAMet project is made up of seven agents from the RVCTI who contribute fundamental and applied knowledge that is essential to meet the goal, and they have broad experience so the outcome can subsequently be transferred to industry. The leader is TEKNIKER. Their partners are GAIKER, AZTERLAN, CEIT and TECNALIA, alongside the Business R&D unit of OTUA (INATEC Foundation), and the university of Navarre TECNUN, represented by the sustainable improvement group. All of them have demonstrated experience in different points of the metal value chain, from recycling materials, automated classification, and foundry or modelling processes.
The project is supported by the ELKARTEK 2024 programme from the Basque government.
